Beyond Tracking: Turning Lived Experience into Better Women’s Health Through Wearables

The Opportunity
A leading MedTech company set out to understand how health wearable technology could better support women navigating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and menopause—two areas with growing demand, limited solutions, and significant unmet need. The study identified key pain points and uncovered opportunities to deliver more holistic, personalized care through wearable innovation.
Our Approach
We used a two-phase design: in-depth interviews with women and a variety of healthcare providers who know about and treat women’s health issues to uncover nuanced needs, followed by a nationally fielded survey with the same audiences to quantify insights and surface actionable opportunities for wearable health solutions.

Our Impact
The research confirmed significant clinical and emotional burdens among women with PCOS and going through menopause—highlighting a clear gap in care, particularly around weight and lifestyle management. One product concept emerged as a promising tool to support earlier intervention, symptom validation, and personalized guidance.
The company is now actively advancing a wearable-based solution tailored to the unique needs of women with PCOS and going through menopause.
